Spot on Vic, it was indeed the same hall. I think it's called the King's Hall and it has an excellent acoustic.

Seconding, Valmai's comment, Sandra's talent and enthusiasm has made her a major contributor over the decades.
In the photos of the presentation/concert on Facebook, the hall looks to me like the one at the university where we were with Shirley for the 'America Over The Water' show. Was it, Brendan?

Thank you for posting this news, BrendanB. I enjoyed Sandra's music some years ago - I believe it was the EIFF- and am delighted her work has been recognized in this way.

On Friday Sandra Kerr was presented with the EFDSS gold medal in Newcastle. The citation made clear the quite incredible contribution she has made to folk music in the UK. The evening was also a concert by Werca's Folk - Sandra's women's folk choir, Sisters Unlimited and Nancy Kerr and James Fagan. A truly wonderful evening.
