Subject: Spring weekend at Frittenden coming up! From: Gavin Atkin Date: 23 Mar 15 - 04:23 PM - Singdanceandplay By The Fireside afternoon sing, 2pm Saturday in the function room at the Bell & Jorrocks, Frittenden (free) - Friendly barndance in the function room at the Bell & Jorrocks, Saturday night from 8pm (£7 and £4 usual concs) - Mixed songs and tunes session with Annie Dearman and Steve Harrison in the bar of the Bell & Jorrocks (free) Please pass this email on to anyone you think might be interested. What a weekend we're going to have! We start at 2pm this Saturday (28th March) with an afternoon sing with Annie Dearman and Steve Harrison, Peter Collins, Nigel Hobbins, and Ollie and Malcolm Woods, and we're also hoping to see Adrian O and Gordon Brenchley. With some of the trad song workshop coming and their friends, it should be a jolly do, singers and listeners who appreciate trad songs, old fashioned songs, entertaining songs and a good chorus are welcome to join us, and it's free... Bring a song and let us know you've arrived! Back again at the Bell & Jorrocks at 8pm we'll be opening the doors of our spring barndance - the Old Fashioned Night Out. We'll have games and songs, and of course lots of nice easy dances suitable for all ages. All funds raised go to fund future events. We've never actually sold out, but it's been close several times - so it's worth emailing us at gmatkin@gmail.com to tell us how many tickets you want. And of course on the Sunday night we have our regular last Sunday of the month session, starting at 8pm, with Annie and Steve. If you don't already know them, Annie is a smashing singer, while her accompanist Steve plays boxes, tenor guitar and banjo, and can turn in a cracking instrumental, particularly on mouthorgan. Proper class, as they say, great friends and deservedly regulars at our events! For information about our other events and workshops, see the various pages at http://www.singdanceandplay.net/ |
