Subject: ANIMATERRA's acappella group ROCKS!! From: WyoWoman Date: 28 Nov 99 - 06:31 PM Well, I got a tape in the mail Saturday from Animaterra (Allision, two Ls) and it just rocks. It's her a cappella choir and she/they have done a wonderful job. Great rhythms, impeccable harmonies. You'll just want to dash up there to New Hampshire and join up... Check it out -- you can order a tape from Animaterra, and they'll have new CDs and tapes coming out after the first of the year as well. I recommend 'em highly.

Subject: RE: ANIMATERRA's acappella group ROCKS!! From: AllisonA(Animaterra) Date: 30 Nov 99 - 11:42 AM Yes, Wyo, and thanks for all the great praise. I just put it out that I was interested in starting a "small singing group: and got woman the first night- and I hardly knew any of them. That summer we had 22, that fall we had 45, and we've capped it at 60 just to keep it intimate- sorta. And this is in sleepy little Keene, NH which is a busy place culturally but doesn't have a huge population- 23,000 at last count. If you build it, they will come! BTW, if anyone DOES want a cd of our next concert, email me for details. I'll give a portion to Mudcat for each one. Allison |

Subject: RE: ANIMATERRA's acappella group ROCKS!! From: blt Date: 05 Dec 00 - 01:15 AM I just moved from Keene; I think I used to hear Animaterra rehearsing at Antioch, when I would be leaving the building in the evening after classes--is that true? I never found out at the time who the singers were, so I wasn't sure. |

Subject: RE: ANIMATERRA's acappella group ROCKS!! From: AllisonA(Animaterra) Date: 05 Dec 00 - 01:17 PM OK, ok, here's the scoop: First, the concert is this Friday and Saturday night, at the Keene Unitarian Universalist Church on Washington St., Keene, NH at 7:30. No reservations are taken, but come early! "Suggested donation" is $7. To order a cd, pm me with your address and what you want and how many. Or you can just let me choose for you! Spring programs are often focused on "women's music" and also we like to sing Balkan and/or African stuff; winter tends to be a bit more serious and usually has some solstice/Christmas/Chanukah stuff. CDs are $20, but we have some older tapes now on sale for $6!! For more info on any of this stuff, email me (taking a deep breath, I know I'm taking a risk posting this here:) aac@monad.net And thanks for all the kind words! I really love what I do! |

Subject: RE: ANIMATERRA's acappella group ROCKS!! From: Susan A-R Date: 06 Dec 00 - 09:41 PM Bother! This weekend is pretty well booked. there's a northern Harmony concert up here on Friday (and i'll really have to move to get out of the Kitchen and over to the concert by 7:30) and then Saturday is a road trip with friends. They are early music snobs, so I don't think we can squeeze Keene into the trip. Maybe I can lie. . . Have fun singing!! And thanks for checking CamiSu |
Subject: RE: ANIMATERRA's acappella group ROCKS!! From: Wesley S Date: 07 Dec 00 - 12:10 PM I'd like to hear a little more about the type of material that y'all perform. Also, how large is your repertoire and what type of venues do you usually perform at? Good luck this weekend. |
