How does a seroies of 'Concerts' constitute a Festival ? I always think of LOTS of participation at a festival , not just watching someone else .

Not a folk festival it is a bums on seats series of concerts, too many

people looking for audience and not enough participation

Where are the dancers, morris, singarounds etc

I agree. But.................

Didn't the old guard have something similar to say in Bob Dylan's heyday? And some of us renegades morphed into archetypal traditionalists and even collected a precious few songs that would otherwise never have survived.

If it gets bums on seats some of those bums will become old fogies. And get their bums off the seats and onto the dance floor, into the sessions, and maybe ............

Young people eh? Who else is joining the conveyor belt to keep the tradition moving?

More power to Sanjay for doing Something. I get impression he is a good musician, as well as an organiser. Though a reply to emails wouldn't go amiss.
