Subject: RE: What Song Makes You Drop Everything P.2 From: lamarca Date: 30 Nov 99 - 05:28 PM Art - I copied it off your original post into MS Word, did a global replace of every carriage return with the HTML Break tag: Go to the Edit menu, "Replace All", use special symbol menu to select the paragraph symbol as the item to replace, and enter the Break symbol as the thing you want to replace it with. Click "Replace All", and bingo! all the Break tags are put in in one fell swoop (or one Swell Foop). Then copy it into "Reply to thread" window. It took about a minute and a half...it obviously took you a LOT of work to compile it in the first place! If you are making long lists of things, or typing lyrics out, it's easiest to do it in a word processor with a replace function. End each line with an easily typed character, like "/", then after typing, replace "/" with the Break tag. As I am a 4-finger typist at best, anything that saves me from having to type "shift-left angle bracket, br, shift-right angle bracket" over and over speeds things up. Also, I can read through the lyrics and proof before posting... |

Subject: RE: What Song Makes You Drop Everything P.2 From: JB flat top gitfiddle Date: 30 Nov 99 - 12:28 PM I would have to say that the old spiritual "Cold Jordan" would make me drop anything I was holdin. The bass notes in that one are right on! Another would have to be a version of Pete Rowans "Walls of Time" that was a duet with Bill Monroe in 64 at the Newport Folk FEstival. And my last choices would be the tune "shady grove" from the same show with Bill and Pete and Garcia and Grismans version on the Shady Grove album they released. |

Subject: RE: What Song Makes You Drop Everything P.2 From: BeauDangles Date: 29 Nov 99 - 01:15 PM I am sure I will think of more after I send this, but the first thing that popped into my head was "The Planets" by Gustave Holst, especially the Jupiter movement. When I here that piece it's everything I can do just to stay in my body! It is on my list of songs to be played at my funeral when I shuffle off this mortal coil. BeauDangles |
