Martin Carthy is unsurpassed as a performer of English traditional song & dance music. His knowledge & skill in performing & restoring ballads is unequalled. It is impossible to over-estimate his influence on at least two generations of singers & players.
        Martin will bring his expertise in restoring & performing ballads, & also his knowledge of the ballads that you bring yourselves. You are invited to nominate a ballad in advance that you will sing & the group will discuss. To avoid clashes with other contributors. please state your preferred ballad in advance. If your choice has already been taken, we will let you know so that you can choose another. If in doubt about what counts as a ballad, don't hesitate to discuss it with us first.
