Subject: RE: Kemp Jigs Again From: GUEST Date: 02 May 15 - 10:08 PM Thanks for posting that Jack ! He actually got a mention on BBC radio 2 just before 2 am , though all the music was on the 'Pop' side ! Good to see that 'They Daft Morris Dancers' are keeping things going ! |

Subject: RE: Kemp Jigs Again From: GUEST Date: 03 May 15 - 11:52 AM How many reenactments of the Nine Daes Wonder does that make now? |
Subject: RE: Kemp Jigs Again From: Jack Campin Date: 03 May 15 - 12:21 PM I hadn't heard of others, who else has done it? Do we have the steps for that tune? I assume the long notes go along with big leaps? |
Subject: RE: Kemp Jigs Again From: Thompson Date: 03 May 15 - 07:31 PM I understood that the dance Kemp did was a drifting soft-shoe dance rather than a Morris dance. Shouldn't the two threads on this be merged? |
Subject: RE: Kemp Jigs Again From: Manitas_at_home Date: 04 May 15 - 05:10 AM The London Morris clubs did a relay back in 1974 (?) and there was another relay organised by the Morris Ring (it may have included the other Morris organisations) for the Millenium I think. There has been at least one other solo attempt. |
