Subject: Prisoner's Song unidentified singer
From: GUEST,SirCoughsalot

Can anyone help me out here? I swear I remember hearing "The Prisoner's Song" or a variant thereof sung by a woman at an uptempo pace with banjo accompaniment but for the life of me I can't remember who it was or find it again. I thought it was Cousin Emmy but I don't think that's right. If it was, I can't find it again. She sounded like she was from Kentucky. She sang "Meet me tonight, lover, meet me" or "tonight, love, oh meet me" but it sounded more like "meet me tonight, lovah, meet me."

Hi,

Could it be Lily May Ledford of the Coon Creek Girls? Her granddaughter, Cari Norris, (Louisville) plays her banjo now.

Richie
