Subject: Information on June Lazare? From: babypix Date: 12 May 15 - 05:39 PM Greetings, Gentle Colleagues: I've recently come across some interesting Smithsonian Folkways recordings of June Lazare, whom, according to liner notes, was: "A music teacher and folk enthusiast June Lazare, Folk Songs of New York City, Vol. 1 was born of research for a program presented at the New York Folklore Society. This research informs the liner notes which, combined with Lazare's gentle brogue, resurrects the enigmatic characters and defining events of New York City folklore." Anyone know anything else about her? Is she still with us? Kindest thanks for any information. Deborah Robins |

If you would specify what you are interested in knowing about her, I would gladly do my best to inform. Regards, Lee Goldenberg medgold55@gmail.com |
Subject: RE: Information on June Lazare? From: Joe Offer Date: 26 Jul 15 - 02:53 AM Thanks for responding, Lee. I'll send your message on to Babypix. Looks like June Lazare recorded just two albums on the Folkways label: I'd like to learn more about her. Her recordings are available on Spotify. -Joe Offer, Mudcat Music Editor- |
