Subject: RE: Gordon Lightfoot 2016 UK/Ireland Tour From: Gallus Moll Date: 19 May 16 - 08:04 PM Really lovely evening Tattie -- even tho there were a lot of pensioners (myself included) in the hall watching a pensioner onstage! Sentimental journey, I soooo loved his songs and singin 'way back when- - and somehow had lost touch with his music over the years. Really glad to see/ hear him live, fair took me back! (And I stayed over at the excellent The Piper's Tryst - great wee independent restaurant with rooms attached to the Piping Centre.) |
Subject: RE: Gordon Lightfoot 2016 UK/Ireland Tour From: Tattie Bogle Date: 19 May 16 - 10:19 AM Sorry to miss you GM, but wasn't that a great night? A full 2 hours packed with lots of songs, good humour, super band, sound comfortable on the ears and the backdrops and lighting were just stunning! |

Subject: RE: Gordon Lightfoot 2016 UK/Ireland Tour From: Gallus Moll Date: 16 May 16 - 06:04 AM just realised Gordon Lightfoot was born same year as TS Queen Mary was launched! She was towed from Tilbury to James Watt Dok, Greenock, over the last few days, tugs manoeuvred her skilfully into the berth - - check the Friends of TS Queen Mary web and facebook pages, it was an emotional return to the place of her birth. (there must be a potential song in there about her final journey -- ) |
