Subject: RE: Porlock, Somerset: Visiting June 2015 From: GUEST,Rafflesbear Date: 19 May 15 - 10:57 AM If you want to play/join in then www.mineheadmusic.co.uk/events has the local sessions within 20 miles of Minehead. Additionally there is SADFOLK as above (Somerset and Dorset if you're wondering) and Wessex Acoustic Calendar at www.sanchobramble.weebly.com Would love to have any catters along to the Brit session, it's not limited to folk but has its share, very friendly, quite social, fun and welcoming as well. |

We update it every fortnight (roughly) so it will always be current. |

Subject: RE: Porlock, Somerset: Visiting June 2015 From: GUEST Date: 19 May 15 - 09:22 AM We'll be visiting in June too. RafflesBear has sessions at various venues in Minehead, but the best one is at The Britannia Inn every Sunday from 4 until 8.00. There are occasional Tuesaday sessions there. There was a good open mic at The Top Ship in Porlock too. I suggest contacting Rafflesbear on here or Richard Neal on Facebook. Try Barbara Brown also. She has Saturday nights in Coombe Martin. Lots of venues listedon the SADFOLK websiteSADFOLK |

Subject: RE: Porlock, Somerset: Visiting June 2015 From: Steve Shaw Date: 17 May 15 - 01:19 PM Make sure you have a ride on the West Somerset steam railway between Minehead and Bishops Lydeard. Lovely it is. Porlock Weir is very charming. Dunster Castle is very pleasant on a nice day and the town is an agreeable place. Have a stroll up Dunkery Beacon, Exmoor's highest point, a gentle stroll of about a mile and a half from the country road. |
