I am being told elsewhere that Bert Jansch had a music shop in Putney. Maybe in the 70s. Is this true?

Do you ever bother to try and look things up?

Bert Jansch: Late 1970s:

"On returning to England, he set up Bert Jansch's Guitar Shop at 220, New King's Road, Fulham. The shop specialised in hand-built acoustic guitars but was not a commercial success and closed after two years."

Bert and Charlotte were living upstairs at the time and unfortunately Bert probably spent more time making cups of tea for people who would drop in than doing any real selling of anything, other than guitar picks and strings. One good thing that came out of this though was Bert's association with Yamaha which lasted until his passing. I mean really, can you actually see Bert selling anything to anyone? There might be more detail in Colin Harper's book, I don't recall. Hope that is of some help Richard.

David E.
