Last night at our session at the Elsinore in Whitby I was approached by a chap from South London who told me he had really enjoyed the night as he never heard any folk in South London. I said that I thought there would be plenty and I would endeavour to find out where.

So over to you guys where can he find folk in South London. Names of venues and nights would be appreciated.

Goose Is Out (posting on here a fair bit - Nick Dow gig coming up, regular singarounds...)

Folk of the Wood (though I've always found these events to be unpleasantly packed - I know, a ridiculous complaint for a folk club!)

Not sure if Court Sessions is still going...

The three Orpington things (one is "Folk and Blues"), Woodsie's events near Blackheath, I think there's still a diddly and humpty session in Greenwich, there used to be more diddly and humpty and eurotunes in Southwark, there is some stuff at Ruskin House in Croydon and a strange place for wannabee cowboys in South Croydon. Then there is the Eltham stuff, at the Rugby club and in Foots Cray.

How big an area is included in 'South London'? If anywhere south of the river counts, there is the monthly Borough Music Session

Thanks to everyone so far, I don't know the area at all and have no idea of where these venues are but I'll pass on the information.
