Subject: RE: One of these little moments-- From: Stilly River Sage Date: 30 May 15 - 12:45 AM When I was an undergraduate I used to walk past the music building on my way to English classes, and always took extra time for the walk because the windows would be open and the music flowing out was always wonderful. A snippet of Chopin on the piano followed by Mozart on the violin, then a vocalist working on something equally beautiful. Sometimes I found myself and others standing on the sidewalk just listening. It's a magical moment when music rises to meet you. SRS |

Subject: One of these little moments-- From: GUEST,Peter Laban Date: 29 May 15 - 07:33 AM Just now I was outside, doing some repairs on the poly tunnel on our half acre. Clouds were drifting by but overall it was sunny and pleasant enough. Not a sound to be heard but the wind and the cuckoo calling. Out on the road, behind the hedge, I heard someone walking, not a usual occurrence as you may think on a road on the backarse of rural Ireland. Whoever it was, he was singing and rather well too. Just as he passed me, unaware of anybody on the other side of the hedge I heard it was MacColl's 'Joy of Living'. Lovely, it lifted the day. |
