Parts of the group--maybe just one person--joined the Dry Branch Fire Squad, and as they say, the rest is mystery. If the OP does get back I'll spend more time on this. |

From: Joe Offer Date: 18 Jun 15 - 03:36 AM Hi, Jon - I'm not quite understanding what you're looking for. # linked to a song titled "Dust Eatin' Cowboys," recorded by the Hotmud Family and written by Dave Gordon. Is that what you seek, or are you looking for more? -Joe- Thread #28138 Message #348085 Posted By: Stewie 29-Nov-00 - 01:34 AM Thread Name: Lyr Add: Dust Eatin' Cowboys Subject: Lyr Add: DUST EATIN' COWBOYS (Dave Gordon)

Subject: Tune Req: lost song? From: GUEST,jondoe Date: 17 Jun 15 - 03:48 PM Thanks all, for the powerful vibes that restored my memory AND my hair. And ignore this, but maybe it will spark a memory, too? The Hot Mud Family was an excellent OT/Bluegrass band, in the 70's, early 80's. And in the 90's some played with Dry Branch. === I know I've lost my mind. And memory, too? There were a few songs I've lost along the way. And, am I remembering the right band? We even shared the bill with them a few times. I'm thinking of the Dry Branch Fire Squad - I'm so positive - but that can't be right. They were old-times'bluegrass A few songs they did, in the early 80's - 'Country ham and gravy', 'Dust eating cowboy at the rear of the heard'. I think it was a band, with a married couple as the leads. Susan something? Him? Don't remember. (Suzanne) I've looked at DBFS's bio, and they did have a female singer - but the name wasn't familiar, and the songs weren't there. I played the songs at my radio show. Oh - it was '.... Family'. ^^^ see above |
