A choir, of whom I am a member, is contemplating making a CD, and I have been charged with the task of gathering the neccesary costings.

Unfortunately, we anticipate very modest sales, but none of the companies I've looked at are willing to burn anything less than a thousand units at a time.

This would add a considerable overhead to our production costs, plus it's liable to leave us with a lot of unsold stock.

Does anyone know of British based CD burning company that would be willing to do runs of maybe 200 CDs at a time?

Many anticipatory thanks.

I use:

http://www.duplicationcentre.co.uk/

Very good, very efficient, reasonably priced, and will do runs as low as 50.

A friend of mine uses these people:

I understand that they will do runs of 50 copies and can also help with design etc.

Here ye go:
Primera

For $1500US you can make all the copies you need, when you
need them. They are CD-Rs, but look very good ad the tech
is eazy-peazy. I've been using one of these for CD sales
for years and years.

Reading the buyers guide on the Duplication Centre site, it looks very encouraging and they quote for 100 runs. It is all up front, I would go for them if I wanted a run of 100 very professional results.

It all depends on the results needed. I do these things myself for runs of 5/6 (but I have done 50 for a worthy cause) and the only thing I insist on is full-face printable CDs (I have the inkjet printer that can). If you are selling you do need a reputable brand of CD-R that boasts long life.

The outfit above use HighQ CDs and Xerox printing covered in laquer, which is far more durable. But I would tell the buyers of CDs to keep them out of sunlight and heat (eg from sunlight).

Mobineko do glass mastered CDs (as opposed to CDrs) starting at 100. I've used them before and they are quick and reasonably priced. Easy to deal with, too.

About 12 years ago I bought a couple of affordable 'stand alone' CD rom duplicators
which were ok for quickly running off batches of demo audio CDs
as and when required...

[shortly afterwards DVD/CD rom duplicators became available]

I don't know what equivalent product is on the market these days,
but might be worth investigating,
for any mudcatters who just want to burn the odd couple of dozen discs every now and then...???
