Jack was a mainstay of the Montreal folk scene from the late 1950s onward - and a celebrated story-teller. Through the decades Jack made great music as a solo performer and a member of The Mountain City Four with Peter Weldon, Kate and Anna McGarrigle and friends.

I enjoyed many of Jack's performances in the late 1960s at the Montreal Folk Workshop. I still play a couple of songs Jack introduced back then.

Jack was a beloved storyteller and folksinger of the Montreal Storytellers Guild and a memeber of Storytellers of Canada. He had a beautiful way of bringing you into his tale as he told it. He often told me of Jewish Folktales that he thought might interest me. He was a gentle man and a gentleman and I wish him peace, story and song in his eternal resting place. Journey forward Jack! Fondly, Selina

I'd never heard of Jack before now, and wish I had. He sounds like my sort of person! I have added his name to the "In Memoriam" thread. My thoughts are with all his friends and family.

RIP

Peter
