Hello. . . do any of you remember a) who wrote "The Revolution Will Not Be Televised" and b) where I can look to find the text? Would like to translate this work into French, but cannot remember who wrote it. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

If memory serves me correctly (always an iffy thing), it was written, or at least performed by Gil Scott-Heron. I have no idea where you can find the text of it, though. Hopefully, someone here will know.

was this the work of The Last Poets, the grandaddies of (political) rap?--a very interesting group.

Maybe they should have a reunion...starting in Seattle.

I have this on vinyl. Gil was a founding member of the Last Poets, and was/is an English Prof at NYU last I heard. Will post the lyrics here at my next opportunity.
