Subject: Richmond Folk Festival From: GUEST,Roger in Baltimore Date: 16 Jul 15 - 04:31 PM One of the pluses of moving to Richmond, VA has been their annual folk festival. It runs, this year, from Friday evening October 9, to all day Saturday, October 10 and all day Sunday, October 10. It may be that in the seven years I have gone that many Washington Folk Lore Society members have gone, but I have recognized no one. They accept a donation of $10, but the festival is worth more than that. It is situated on the North Bank of the James River. There is a good bit of walking going on, so be prepared to walk. The performers always include a goodly number of people from other countries singing and playing their folk music. There are also some "name" performers. The list of performers will not be completed until September. They do have some blue grass and blues performers on tap. There is general parking outside of the festival that will then take you to the festival site. I you are willing to pay for parking, you can get closer. I hope some Mudcatters show up. Subject: RE: Richmond Folk Festival From: GUEST Date: 17 Jul 15 - 04:00 AM It does help if you are more specific about locations in thread titles. Richmond is a very common town name around the English speaking world. |
Subject: RE: Richmond Folk Festival From: Les from Hull Date: 17 Jul 15 - 04:44 AM Richmond without anything added to it should refer to the original Richmond, North Yorkshire, UK. |

Subject: RE: Richmond Folk Festival From: GUEST,Don Day Date: 18 Jul 15 - 09:27 AM I agree with Les and Guest. What effort would it take to add "Va" to your message? It would save us with little transport time from reading it! |
