Subject: BS: Obama in Kenya From: Richard Bridge Date: 27 Jul 15 - 03:15 AM A message for the monsters crawling out from under stones in Kenya and the rest of Africa. What a bunch of sub-human morons you are. Until Africa jettisons "god" and "the prophet" and other imaginary friends - the very imaginary friends used to subject Africa to slavery - it will never become civilised. Homophobia is repellent and has no place in the civilised world. Likewise FGM, wifebeating, child marriage, and so many other evils that are defended in the name of tradition. Obama is right (if entirely too moderate). Remember, when the missionaries came to Africa, they had the bible and the Africans had the land. They told you to close your eyes to pray. When you opened your eyes, the missionaries had the land and all you had was the bible. |
Subject: RE: BS: Obama in Kenya From: Joe Offer Date: 27 Jul 15 - 03:29 AM Damn! You mean it was missionaries that owned Rhodesia? |
Subject: RE: BS: Obama in Kenya From: akenaton Date: 27 Jul 15 - 04:13 AM "Gay marriage is a non issue in Kenya" President Obama had the sense to take that rebuke seriously, we cannot go round the world determining the social policies of other cultures. Homosexual "marriage" has now been legislated for in most of the West at the whim of the media and craven governments, but are our problems any better, we are ravaged by austerity, robbed by the system, our young people without ideals or a real chance to contribute to society. "Gay marriage" is a non- issue everywhere, but used as a smoke screen to obscure the real inequalities in our society. |
Subject: RE: BS: Obama in Kenya From: Richard Bridge Date: 27 Jul 15 - 04:21 AM Surprise! |
Subject: RE: BS: Obama in Kenya From: Keith A of Hertford Date: 27 Jul 15 - 04:47 AM Plenty of places that have not jettisoned God, have established equal rights for their LGBT communities. Obama himself is a Christian. Has any country jettisoned God, never mind a continent!? Is there any country where atheists are a majority? |
Subject: RE: BS: Obama in Kenya From: Keith A of Hertford Date: 27 Jul 15 - 04:54 AM the very imaginary friends used to subject Africa to slavery It was Christian reformers who ended to trans-Atlantic slave trade. |
Subject: RE: BS: Obama in Kenya From: Les in Chorlton Date: 27 Jul 15 - 05:23 AM But mostly the slaves what made it happen. Christians! What a bunch they cannot even agree amongst themselves can they? |
Subject: RE: BS: Obama in Kenya From: GUEST Date: 27 Jul 15 - 05:45 AM Obama is in Ethiopia now. The 'missionaries' got there before they got to the UK and about a millenium before they got the the USA. Please can we have your assessement of their relevance to current issues there please Richard? |
Subject: RE: BS: Obama in Kenya From: Keith A of Hertford Date: 27 Jul 15 - 11:00 AM Christians! What a bunch they cannot even agree amongst themselves can they? Or the Labour Party. Or any large, diverse organisation. The fact remains that the first slavery abolitionists were devout Christians, motivated by their faith. |
Subject: RE: BS: Obama in Kenya From: Teribus Date: 27 Jul 15 - 02:09 PM Hate to disillusion you Bridge old son but British Christians did more to eradicate the slave trade in the world than any other group or organisation. The greatest slavers in the world were Islamic and they still defend the practice and the institution of slavery to this day. Now let us all here your outright condemnation of them for that stance. |
Subject: RE: BS: Obama in Kenya From: Wesley S Date: 27 Jul 15 - 02:21 PM Wow - Here's a new topic that I don't think has ever been discussed at the Mudcat before: "Religion is bad" I'll follow it with interest. I'm sure it will bring amazing insights from new and interesting members. I look forward to being enlightened. |
