Hi- This is to formally announce that as of today, I have taken over the reins of Camsco Music from the estimable Wally MacNow. This shouldn't make any difference whatever to the Digital Tradition, and (hopefully) to you good folks who have been patronizing Camsco, but I thought I'd let you know. For a short while, at least, I expect to have some teething pains in running a smooth operation, but I beg of y'all to have a wee bit of patience. I think Wally's done a marvelous job with Camsco, and I hope to build on what he's done. The goal? To make hard-to-find recordings readily available. (also, to possibly make some contribution to my food and rent budget). I hope to sell you lots of recordings in the future.

Dick, I wasn't aware of the existence of Camsco before today (I'm new to the Mudcat), but it's already bookmarked and I expect to be patronizing you as soon as I can afford to. While I'm at it, thanks for the DT. It's a wonderful resource. In fact, that's what led me to the Mudcat Cafe, which is another wonderful resource.

Best of luck in your new venture.

Jeffp

Dick, please tell me how I can get some of that crass commercialism for myself. Heather is starting to expect more than one meal a day.

Win the lottery, and keep on with what you're doing now until the money runs out.

"There are literally HUNDREDS of dollars to be made in folk music..."

Whoever said that didn't append the caveat "...and literally THOUSANDS to be lost"!

Joking aside, best of luck, Dick - we'll buy from you the same way we bought from Wally - erratically. Find a good way to keep CDs from Fellside, No Masters, Fledg'ling, Topic and other British labels coming over to the USA at affordable prices, and I'll be there, Visa card in hand!

LOL, lamarca

Dick ... congrats!!! I think it was when I was playing for tips in coffeehouses that I realized I was never going to get rich being a humdinger folksinger. But $20 a night , 30 years ago bought a lot more than it does now ... moonchild

Congratulations, Dick. It's good to know that another recording entity is being headed by someone who knows a lot and has had a long history in folk music. Best of luck.

I also want to add my voice to thank you for DT, as well.

Frank

Dick,

All the best!!!!!!!!! I wish I had another of the stickers I put on my banjo years ago---from the San Francisco Folk Music Club I think. It says:

EARN BIG BUCKS
PLAY TRADITIONAL MUSIC

Go for it---

Art
