Subject: RE: Lyr Req: 'I'm a hayseed, my hair is seaweed' From: Joe Offer Date: 12 Nov 20 - 01:21 AM One of the favorite expressions of my sainted mother-in-law was, "Gosh all hemlock." We had no idea what it meant or where it came from. -Joe- |
Subject: RE: Lyr Req: 'I'm a hayseed, my hair is seaweed' From: Joe Offer Date: 12 Nov 20 - 01:20 AM Here's another version, customized for Damp Bonnie Brae: https://central-western-ma-campsongs.my-free.website/unit-songs#:~:text=Tyro,Gosh%20oh%20hemlock! Oh, I'm a hayseed, my hair is seaweed, and my ears are made of leather and they flop in rainy weather. Gosh oh hemlock! I'm tough as a pine nut! For I'm a Tyro girl you see. Over rocks, over stumps, in 150* jumps, from the Big House to Tyro we go. There you'll see counselors three in the shade beneath the trees, guiding good campers on their way. For it's work and play for the Tyro girls today. Shout out your letter proud and strong! T-Y-R-O! For wherever we go, you will always know, we are good campers from Bonnie Brae. Yes we are! we are good campers from Bonnie Brae! V-K-D^! 150 is starred, because, as the CIT 1 group of 2015 determined, it takes 250 large jumps from Big House to Tyro. However, 150 is the original lyrics, which is why it was left as is. |

Subject: Lyr Req: Song help ? From: Deckman Date: 21 Aug 15 - 09:19 AM For some stoopid reason, I've had the first two lines of a camp song ringing through my pea brain. I was ten when I was shipped off to camp so my parents could have a break from me. All I remember of that experience was the first few lines of this ditty: "Oh I'm a hayseed, my hair is seaweed, And my ears are made of leather, and they flap in windy weather ..." Can anyone fill in the rest of the song? Thanks, bob(deckman)nelson |
