ah, Fox Lake. I was arrested there in the seventies because one of us campers happened to be Black.

MAG, it's actually in Geneva, Illinois, on the Fox River, in the Fox Valley. Fox Lake is a different town in Illinois. Though being busted for camping while black could also happen in the Fox Valley back then.

Getting my stuff ready for this annual trip to where the music fills all the musical holes that don't get filled in Ohio. This year I'm off the hook for bawdy songs (good thing, I was running low) but look forward to being able to sing and play with all those decades long friends I only get to see once or twice a year. I'm polishing up all the songs I associate with Art Thieme for the song circle tent.

Best festival in the Midwest. I'm not always the volunteer who comes the farthest, either.

Joanne in Cleveland

We are Michael Smith groupies. February Sky is another favorite, as is the multi talented Lil' Rev.

All of the flyers that were mailed last week Say the Festival is Sept 5 & 6, although the artist lineups show Sunday & Monday. It's too late to print & mail a revised mailing so if you can help spread the word, Juel would appreciate it.

Yes, the festival is really from Sept. 6 and 7 (Sunday/Monday). At lot of the regulars will know that, but if one is thinking of coming for the first time, please keep this info in mind.
