Subject: Origins: Searching for song with little to go by
From: GUEST

Hi Folks,

Was playing at a market fair this weekend, saw me doing songs with my
hurdy-gurdy and asked if I knew this song ( which she started singing);
beautiful voice, WONDERFUL song..but sh didn't recall the name exactly.
She said it came from an album she had that was all women solo singers.
The album title was something like "Traditional Songs Of England"
or the like, as she wasn't sure, and the song title was somewhere around " I Roved To Turkey" or " As I travelled To Turkey".
I know this is infuriatingly little information, vague at best, but was wondering if any of this stirs a memory in someone. Any help
greatly appreciated, and thanks in advance.

The song can be heard at that link.

I am unable to reach the OP at the address he's listed because it's one of those damned email things that asks me to agree to this and that. If someone else could, please let him know his question has been answered (I think).
