Change the spelling of the heading please! A red flag is not the same as a rose flag...

It gets sung with communismo, socialismo, and anarchismo, according to preference, often at the same time by different people, competing to sing the last line loudest. I'd suspect that socialismo would have been the original. After all, all communist would always be happy to describe themselves as advocates of socialism.

Surely more usually sung as "Avanti popolo" than "Avanti! Sciopero" as quoted in that report; tho "scipero" [= strike] could have well been used on the occasion of a particular strike. Which was the original, 1908, version?
