Subject: Tech: Sony PRS-505 for music scores From: Jack Campin Date: 30 Sep 15 - 11:02 AM Does anybody know how to get a multi-page music score in PDF onto a Sony PRS-505 ebook reader in a format you can actually read? Viewing the PDF on the device gives me "Protected page" when I try to look at anything, and Calibre's EPUB conversion doesn't seem to work (the first page is the music with random bits missing and thereafter it's odd bits of text taken from the file, no graphics). I have both PPC and Intel Macs running Mac OS 10.4.11. |

There must be somebody with a clue out there. |

This might be the meaning of "Protected page". I guess that your ebook reader tries to split the file into smaller pages and thus fails. I do not think that multi-page as such is the problem. To find out, try non-obfuscated PDF text files. Where are your PDFs from? |
Subject: RE: Tech: Sony PRS-505 for music scores From: Jack Campin Date: 01 Oct 15 - 05:50 AM They're generated by abcm2ps, either on my Mac or (using a slightly later and differently configured version) on mandolintab.net. I didn't specify any obfuscation when creating them. PDF on the Sony requires me to generate pages sizeds for its screen, it doesn't scale that format. So EPub would be better if I can create it. |
