Subject: RE: Lyr Req: Only a fragment From: GUEST,GUEST.Meryle Korn Date: 11 Nov 15 - 05:11 PM Hello - I've known about Mudcat for several years but haven't accessed it. I'm looking for complete lyrics to a holiday song my mother used to sing and which has come back to me in parts and pieces. Using the Nashville numbering system for melody, this is what I have and what's still missing. Does this sound familiar to anyone? If so, please contact me at meryle.korn at gmail.com. Thanks for any help you can offer. Joe Hickerson suggested I contact Mudcat because he wasn't familiar with the song or tune. I'm guessing it may have been composed somewhere between 1890s and 1920s or '30s. Meryle >^..^< |
Subject: RE: Req: Only a fragment: --brought the-- popped corn From: Joe Offer Date: 12 Nov 15 - 12:21 AM Well, I tried my legendary and prodigious search skills on it and....came up with absolutely nothing. I searched for popped the corn/christmas morn, tooting/tootling horn, and Eloise/tease. Zilch. Zippo. Nothin' But I gave it the old college try. -Joe- Note that I separated this request from the original thread, since the original thread requested a different song. |

Subject: RE: Req: Only a fragment: --brought the-- popped corn From: GUEST Date: 12 Nov 15 - 09:34 AM Mr. Meryle welcome to Mudcat. To aid in the search could you approximate: Geographic location You heard the song...and mother's location of origin? Year you heard the song? Sincerely, Gargoyle Given your last name...do you think it could have been a playful thing she made up to amuse a child? |
