I'm going to assume that you can read music.

You're looking for music which is old-fashioned, is not too solemn or reverent, and is public domain. How do these sound?

Up on the housetop
O come, little children
JIngle Bells
Santa Claus is coming to town (check. is this PD?)
I saw three ships
Angels we have heard on high
Away in a manger
God rest ye merry, gentlemen
Joy to the world
Twelve days of Christmas (prob. need to shorten it)

Your public library may be a good source.

Next I will put in a link to a delightful new song. You should get permission.

You can't do better than to check out --
* Ruth Crawford Seeger's "American Folk Songs for Christmas", along with the Rounder 2-CD set with Seeger family singing all of the songs.
* The Revels Christmas Songbook.
