From: GUEST,dbaker

I have been searching all over the web for the lyrics to this song performed by the band Skipper's Alley, but haven't been able to find them - not even in DigiTrad. Any help would be much appreciated!

These lyrics from Dara ? Conaola's CD The Love Token are a little closer to what Skippers are singing.

Buachaill?n deas ?g m?,
'S t? m? brath ar p?sadh,
'S n? mh?r dhom tr? chulaith ?adaigh,
?ra, cuiaith le haghaidh an Domhnaigh,
Agus cuiaith le haghaidh an Luain
Agus cuiaith le haghaidh chaon l? saoire.

Nil agam ach dh? pningm
De thalamh n? de mhaoin
'S a Chr?ost c?ard a dh?anfeas m? leo
Iad a cho?nn?al le haghaidh 'n'?il
N? iad a chaitheamh ar ch?rsa? sp?irt
N? iad a choinn?al le haghaidh siamsa na ho?che.

? r?nne mise an chr?onna?ocht
Ab fhearr a bh? le d?anamh
?ra, chuir m? s?os i mo ph?ca iad
Agus cheannaigh mise br?ste
Den veilbhitin ba dhao?re
Fallaing bhean an t? 'gus a br?ga

Maidin chi?in cheomhar
Ar ?irigh m? sa bhf?mhar
Is casadh mo st?r sa tsl? dhom
Nuair a dhearc m? ar a br?ga
Shil mo sh?ile deora
A malairt n? ph?sfainn cho?che.

Tuileann agus tr?nn
An taoille chuile l?
'S mar sin a th?anns mo ghr? tr? m'intinn
?ra, t? m? ard sa saol
Mura bhfuil talamh a'm n? maoin
Mar bh?odh curacha? 'gus b?id ag mo mhuintir.

Buachaillin deas ?g m?,
Is t? m? brath ar p?sadh
Is n? dh?anfaidh m? aon ch?na? cho?che
Go mbeidh mise is mo ghr?
San ?it a mb?odh muid tr?th
Go sonasach ag si?l le ch?ile.

I'm a Nice Young Man

I'm a nice young man
And I'm planning to get married,
I am in need of three outfits
Sure a suit for Sunday
And a suit for Monday
And a suit for every single holiday

My wealth in this world
Amounts to two old pennies
And in Christ's name how should I spend them?
Save them for a drink?
Or squander them on sport?
Or spend them on night's entertammen?

Well, I did the smartest thing
That I could have done -
I put them back in my pocket
And I bought a pair of trousers
Of the finest velvet
And a cloak and shoes for my lady.

On a quiet misty morning
That I got up in the autumn
And I met my true love on the road
As I looked at her shoes
The tears ran down my cheeks
As I feared very much that I would lose her.

The tide constantly comes in and out, every single day,
And just as constantly my true love is on my mind,
I am well off in life, even if I have no means
Because my people were always
The owners of boats and curraghs.

I am a nice young man, and I'm planning to get married,
I will not rest or tarry until my love and I
Will be once more together, happily ever after.

Let's see if this works. Copied from the link C Funk supplied above, but I have replaced "á" with "á" and so on.

Is buachaillín fíor-óg mé a thug mór is gean do mhnaoi,
Tá grá do chailín óg agam nach bhfágfaidh go deo mo chroí,
Dhá mbeadh gine buí i mo phóicín is an cíos a bheith le n-íoc
Mar ní fhágfainn teach an ósta nó go n-ólfainn chuile phínn.

Is anois ag teacht don fhómhar seo tá súil agamsa le roinn,
Tá súil le cúpla scór agam nó déileáil as a chionn,
Tá fiacha go leor leor orm is dheamhan ceo ar bith agam lena n-íoc
Is nach suarach an ní dhom pósadh gan bóín agam ná lao.

Is tá féar fada is fásaigh san áit a gcónaíonn sí,
Tá mil na mbeach faoi Cháisc ann, tá cruitheacht ann is grán buí,
Tá úllaí aipí ag fás ann amach go féile Míchíl,
Is, a stór, dhá mbeifeá i ndán dom níorbh fhada a bheadh an oích?.

Is nach trua gan mé i mo chónaí ins an áit a gcónaíonn sí,
Dhá mbeinn ag ceann an bhóithrín gheobhainn eolas chun an tí,
Mar tá píosa fada romhamsa ag goil idir mé agus í,
Is nach bhfuil súil le Rí na Glóire agam nach bhfaighidh aon fhear uaim í.

Is nach iomaí cailín álainn idir Carna agus áth Cinn,
A mbíonn racaí ina gceann acu is lásaí leo síos,
Mar síleann siad gur breátha iad ná an ghealach is ná an ghrian,
Ach ní thiúrfainnse mo stóirín ar mhórán cailíní.

Is comhairle a chuir mo mhuintir orm a dhul ar thóraíocht mnaoi,
Bean a mbeadh cúpla scór aici nó duilliúr den ór buí,
Mar b?fhearr liomsa go mór mór í bheith macánta céillí,
Ná an cailín gan aon fhoghlaim bheadh ag ceol is ag góil fhoinn.

Ní thiúrfainnse mo stóirín, ó, ar an ór buí,
Ní thiúrfainnse mo stóirín ar mhórán cailíní,
Ní thiúrfainnse mo stóirín ar airgead an tsaoil,
Mar pósfaidh mé le fána í is go brách sula gcaillfear í.
