I have been thinking about the gather and the bar and have a couple of thoughts:

1) Would it help to have a large poster of the sessions and times up in the bar?

2) Could the centre section of the bar be designated for the singarounds/music sessions when on (which could then overflow towards the ends)?

3) Agree with Dave about moving the music store back out, both for our benefit and for theirs.

That's a valid point about the music stalls Dave! Worth mentioning to Malc!!

I quite liked having the session in the cafe - also thought that not having it in the Black Bank brought it all together a bit more. There was a bit of a problem in having the music stall next to it - I wanted to try out an accordion but didn't want to disturb what was going on - their sales may have been a bit affected by this and perhaps it could be investigated to put them back in the foyer area next year.

WW - yes, it was a tricky venue, especially as the majority of the tables were filled when we got there, probably due to the fabulous tune session that was going on. Maybe I should have asked them to stop earlier, that might have helped with tables spaces. Sorry David! Will be aware of this if it happens in that venue again....

Thanks Kitty, busy weekend & very busy Mudgather!

Had wondered about the naff prize...

I found the venue a bit off-putting, I'm afraid. Being at one end of the bar, I found it really hard to hear all that was going on. Still, there were lots of good performers and songs/tunes.

Sorry you couldn't maker it bubblyrat, but there's quite a folk scene around you so I guess you get lots of music!!

We had a fabulous if unusual Mudgather IMHO! As we were right in the midst of the Festival Venues there were lots of Folkies included who may not be MudCatters, so the Register has gone a bit awry. We ran over by about an hour and segued into the following Singaround but we did managed to eat and share lots of chocolate with thanks to our hosts Malc & Gill and Bedworth Folk Club!

Alas, the 'naff' prize idea didn't come to pass as it was forgotten in the rush till the majority of MudCatters had wandered off after the programmed finish time. So I've put my 'naff prize' entry safely away for next year, definitely a Winner though....

Anyway, onto the awry Register (some may be guests):

ShortyBrenda
Windhover Weaver
Lenny's Mum & Malcolm (for a moment or so)
Acorn4 & Julia
Des Patalong & the Thrup'nny Bits (B G x 2?)
C M Golby
Noel Howlett
Lesley Guy
Roger & Jo Quigley
Richard Atkins
Sue Jones
Duncan McFarlane & Ann Brivonese
Webby
Jo & Mo Nicholson
Unicorn Man
SaggyDiamond
my guru always said
Mick Pearce (MCP)
Zany Mouse
Graeme Knights
Neil Parker
Orca the Cat (Pete Grassby)
Pete Cunningham (PJ?)
And lots more Non-Catters who didn't sign the Register!

And those spotted also at the Festival:
MalcBedworth
GillBedworth
Moses and The Referee
Herga Kitty & The Horologist
Claire Bedworth
Leraud
Moose (not sure if you're a Catter)
Merek'n'Dary
AlcesterMarj
Andrea (can't remember your MudCat name, sorry!)

So, I'm sure I've missed loads of Catters, apologies!!

Thanks for another fabulous Festival, full of good songs, music & Folkies!! See you next year.....

Joe - it's an opportunity to put faces to Mudcat names, sing a song each, have a chat and (for those who are so inclined) to bring and share chocolate!

Hopefully we'll be there, not sure about a naff raffle prize though! Looking forward to it again, it's the start of Christmas with the switching on of Bedworth lights.

I'll be there. Can't believe it is so close--where did the time go?

The new site will be an interesting experiment, I wonder how it will work out. As for a "naff" prize, I'll have to ask Rachel for ideas ;-)

See you all soon.

It's almost time to go to Bedworth Folk Festival again *hurrah*

Malc has kindly programmed in a MudGather for us on Saturday 28th November in the downstairs bar/bistro at the Civic Hall, from 2.30 to 4pm.

Alas, the Black Bank has changed hands and apparently is an 'eatery' now, so I guess that our perpetual traditional raffle prize has probably gone into the skip when they refurbished.

However, I thought it would be fun if a few Catters could bring a possible substitute to the MudGather. Obviously it would need to be really 'naff' and we could decide which best suits our requirements at the Gather. I wasn't thinking of doing a 'MudRaffle' as such, but all 'attendees' could have a raffle ticket to see who takes it home. What do you think?

Anyway, I'm hoping that the Civic Hall won't mind us eating chocolate, can anyone check? Or we'll find out on the day!

So, who'll be at Bedworth then???
