Hartlepool Folk Festival, in partnership with Allendale Folk Festival, is delighted to present Steve Knightley, half of legendary folk duo Show of Hands, in his specially-themed Maritime tour.

The gig takes place at Hartlepool Maritime Experience's Baltic Rooms, with its flagstone floors, charming old-world atmosphere and gorgeous views of HMS Trincomalee.

Having toured throughout 2015 to rural venues around the country with his Grow Your Own Gig tour, 2016 sees Steve focusing on venues around the shoreline of England and Wales. The 'All at Sea' tour finds him playing in a rich variety of performing spaces within sight of the waves and the tide.

Steve says, "As a West Country songwriter I have written so many songs of seafarers and wreckers, travellers and traders, pirates and smugglers. Now I'm going to be able to sing them with the sound of the sea in the distance - I can't wait!"

Show of Hands are widely acknowledged as the finest acoustic roots duo in England. They are hugely popular, having sold out the Royal Albert Hall on 4 occasions and won numerous BBC Folk Awards. It's a pleasure to welcome the songwriting force behind this fantastic partnership to Hartlepool.

Tickets are £16 and already selling fast. You can
buy tickets online, or *with no booking fee* from 01429 299330;
