It was understood that the op would be abandoned if possibility of cancer in the artery. He was able to clear the artery but not the vein so it was abandoned. I was under for 6 hours, 3 of which was working on the vein. He took many samples from all the nearby tissues and organs, and no cancer was found. That makes this a good news story, and very unusual. I will be checked for any regrowth every few months, and I should have a reasonable life expectancy now. That is a remarkable reversal of what I have been living with the last year and a half. I am very weak and sore fro the op., but much better than I was. I should be back to normal (?) in a few weeks or months. Anyway, I am safely home and being well looked after. By the way, do they do that DNA-targeted treatment for the particular cancer that has its teeth temporarily into you? If they can, it's supposed to mean the chemo is less sickmaking but works really well. (By the way, do you pronounce it keemo or kemmo? I've always heard keemo, but a friend who spent years in the US says kemmo.) |
