That should be read by any- and everyone who thinks human rights are something that just happen and don't have to be fought for. What the Republicans are doing now is from the same playbook. I am likely the only left-winger on this site who hopes Trump wins the nomination. I hope so because he will not win the federal election and he will single-handedly bring about the collapse of the GOP if he wins the GOP nomination. Moderate Republican voters would stay away from the voting booths or vote non-Republican in the general election. Sanders, if he has the intelligence he's demonstrated loudly and clearly, could then run as an Independent (yes, I'm aware he's said he would not do so) and force Clinton further to the 'left' thus bringing about a really needed adjustment to the American political landscape. YMMV, and I expect it will, but so what? The USA once led the world in the protection of human rights. It ceased to do so under GWB. Time to take your proud history back. Woody said it and so did Pete. What are you waiting for? Do it now or lose it all. Keep your eyes on the prize, hold on. A world awaits your choice, and freedom itself depends on that choice.

We are in agreement on lots of things. We actually work well together.

Your comments are valid ... however...it could/should/would toss this thread into the "lower kingdom."

I believe that Mr. Seegar deserved even more investigation. By using his "folk mystic" more than one troll has used the "Limp Peter" as a springboard to reach above-the-line. That some folks attempt to re-kindle old trash...is weird. On any good ship and E, F, or Goose Barnacles needs to be scraped.

Love the post by Guest#. Hope he is correct.

Above or below the line? Pete was the creme de la creme of folk and of protestors and of politically active persons. A role model for all people in all times. Can anything about him go "below the line"? Without losing the wholeness of Pete and his music? Can we separate the earth from the sky?

His music came out of who he was and what he believed was a part of who he was. To be investigated by the FBI is a badge of honout, imo. I'll bet there are other musicians whose music has caused them to be investigated - because of their music. Hurray for them. Those who make every effort to get humans to THINK, must be applauded. We applaud their music because of what they have to say.

Who knows, maybe some in the FBI learned something by that lengthy investigation.

I love to tell right-wingers that my politics are somewhere to the left of Trotsky.

They're really not, I just love to see their reaction. Of course, in the early 1950's I couldn't have said that.

One guy who had the balls to do so was the late actor Howard Da Silva. He would tell actors who were called to testify, "When they demand that you name names, name me!"
