I was so lucky to stumble upon this 40 minute gem from 1992, Classic Country Gentlemen Reunion.

Living around Washington D.C. in the '60's and 70's I saw the CG many times in different lineups but never what many consider the classic lineup which, along with Charlie Waller, included John Duffey, Eddie Adcock and Tom Gray.

I had not heard up of them. Great music, thanks for posting this!

Another one y'all might enjoy from 1970 (a little more classic!): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TufoLAWwqts

His Youtube channel's cool; he's got hundreds of full sets of bluegrass bands from the early 50s to today, though he mostly uploads older stuff.

I like bluegrass but have always preferred old-time central Appalachian music to straight out bluegrass. I like early Bill Monroe more than I like later Bill Monroe and generally prefer the Stanley Brothers and Ralph Stanley to mid and latter Bill Monroe. Simply a matter of personal taste tinged by my own roots.

That being said, The Country Gentlemen was a fine bluegrass group, as were the Seldom Scene, another DC area bluegrass group who hit the 'big time' in terms of bluegrass music, and really enjoyed listening to the link you provided. Thanks.

cnd, your link is a good representation of the 2nd "Classic" line up of the CG (with the late, great Mike Auldridge sitting in on dobro).

Janie, you and I seem to have similar tastes regarding Old time southern mountain music and early Monroe and The Stanley Bros.

I have always been big fan of the Louvin Brothers. Are they old country or are they bluegrass?

I think The Louvin Brothers were a country music act with some obvious bluegrass influence.
