I need tech help in understanding putting songs on Youtube.
I do not have videos of any performers but would like to put some songs on Youtube from LPs that I have from the 1960's & 1970's.
The songs are of obscure singers from albums and never released on CDs.
1. How do I put songs up on Youtube? Not an artist video - just a song from the old LP.

Do I need to take a photograph of LP cover?

3. Can you put more then one song from these obscure albums on Youtube?

4. I have checked to see if the song has already there to hear but the songs I want to put on Youtube are not there.

Please explain in very simple terms - not some super involved or hard to understand tech explanation.

So, there is a very wide array of choices facing you. First of all, I would recommend getting some recording equipment. I'm also assuming you have a record player.

What I personally use to convert vinyl to digital is a device called the Behringer UCA 222 (or something along those lines). Then, download the free program Audacity. What you do is hook your record player's audio chords and ground into the Behringer, plug the Behringer into your computer, and open up Audacity.

When Audacity loads, most of the defaults should be in correct working order. [NOTE: I may have an old version, but it should still be similar] Somewhere in the Audacity tab is a picture of a microphone with a drop-down menu to the right of it. Choose "Audio Codec" or something along those lines (NOT "Internal Microphone," or "Microsoft Sound Mapper").

Hit the red circle to start recording and start your turntable spinning. I personally let the who record play through and separate the tracks afterwards. You can do this by highlighting the first track with your mouse (click-and-drag the selected song), and then hitting the "File" "Export Selection" and name it as you desire. Once it finishes exporting the file, hit the "Delete" key on your keyboard and repeat the process until the entire side is converted into songs.

To answer your specific questions:

1 & 2: Using Windows Movie Maker (or whatever tool suits you) put on some pictures to suit the audio. This can just be a jacket picture, a picture of the record, pictures matching the audio, whatever you feel like. I personally prefer just a jacket picture (as a video maker) because it's a lot less work for me. Whatever video you have in Movie Maker will be exactly the same as when you post it to YouTube. Make sure to include AT LEAST the artist name and song name in the title. You can add additional info in the "description" tab as you desire.

3: If you mean, can you only put on one song per album, yes you can. It's a personal pet-peeve of mine when people just put on one or two songs from an album and then leave you intrigued to wonder how the rest sounds. If you mean, "Can you just upload the whole vinyl as once video," yes you can also do that, but it's not as "view-able" for lack of a better term.

I've said I'd make a video on how to do it, and if so you can give me the excuse and extra prodding needed to get around to it.
