Subject: Tech: Resurrecting an iPod 5th gen From: Rapparee Date: 13 Jan 16 - 02:44 PM My wife's gave a black screen of death and doesn't respond to tender, loving care or charging or threats. It sits there plugged in to the USB port doing nothing but using up gravity. Any suggestions? |

Subject: RE: Tech: Resurrecting an iPod 5th gen From: olddude Date: 13 Jan 16 - 05:56 PM It's easy to set it on when plugging in headphones. I did it on mine. If that's the case sliding it back will be the fix |

Subject: RE: Tech: Resurrecting an iPod 5th gen From: Rapparee Date: 13 Jan 16 - 10:13 PM I held down all the buttons I could for some minutes and was eventually rewarded with a charging icon. Red at the end, even though it was plugged into the charging cable and the cable plugged into a USB outlet which had charged it in the past. I suspect the battery is going, which is a pain because she's only had the damned thing since last July or so -- but she did get it from a friend who had had trouble with it. Hell, what's a couple hundred bucks? I bought lottery tickets and I'm gonna be a billionaire or something. |
