I think I've answered my own question but I'd be interested to know if they ever tour and if I've made any mistakes or omissions.

The Kells

Vocals – Tony Dugan
Guitar & Mandolin - Steve Hall
Guitar - Dave Guy
Whistle, Button Accordion, Keyboards & Backing Vocals - Helen O'Connell
Fiddle & Vocals - Liz Ramsay
Fiddle - Billie Patton
Fiddle - Simon Chantler

Albums (on Northstar Music):

Celtic Dawn (2004)
Celtic Echoes (2004)
Celtic Voices (2004)
Celtic Voyage (2004)
English Mariners: Ancient Songs from the British Isles (2014)

Not to be confused with:

The Kells

Brian McCoy – Flutes, Whistles, Pipes
Kim Rattan – Vocals, Guitar, Mandolin
Doug Rudy – Mandolin, Banjo, Fiddle, Vocals
Eddie Cotter, Jnr. – Bodhrán

Albums:

The Kells (2004)
Don't Burn the Water (2007)
Smooth Sailing After All (2013)

All the best
Harry

Maybe a review of personnel would distinguish between the two?

Bodhran, Eddie Cotter, Jr.: was he in BOTH bands?

Hello everyone,

I'm a new member and I hope to become a regular participant but, for now, can I start my membership by asking if anyone knows anything about The Kells who released the album "English Mariners: Ancient Folks Songs from the British Isles"?

Spotify is a truly wonderful beast but the 'sleeve notes' can be woeful.

All the best
Harry
