And for what it's worth, that tune doesn't have the origin most pipers think it has. It was first published for the piano by J. MacFadyen in his "Repository of Scots and Irish Airs", 1795. Queen Victoria's mad piper Angus Mackay published it as his own about 40 years later, note for note the same in all 6 parts except for the gracenotes.

On the
Bob Dunsire Bagpipe forum they say the tune was called 'Highland Wedding'. Lots more comments about the plastic chanter, the pitch, date of the arrangement...

So far I have found it was piper Hamish Young from the London Scottish regiment I have sent a message asking him what tune was used.

For anyone interested they wear the hodden grey kilt with royal blue trims but their pipe bag is the Gordon tartan

I can't see that. It seems to reference fbcdn when loading, which is Facebook's media server - I can't install the Flash version that Facebook needs.

I found one YouTube clip of that wedding scene, which is four minutes out of my life I won't get back and didn't have any piper in it.

If someone can give me a YouTube link to the exact second where the piper starts I'll watch it.

I've been unable to find a clip showing the piper. Guess I really struck out on this one.

I can't say I've ever watched the series, but I wish I had the time to. Maybe when I get old...
Here's a photo spread on the wedding:Haven't found a clip of the piper yet.

Having not been one of the millions that followed this series, can you post a wee audio or video clip of said part/tune?

Does anyone know what tune the piper played at the end of the Carson/Hughes wedding?
