Subject: Tune Req: Trees: 'I returned one summer's day....'

I wrote down the lyrics to a song I have titled as "Trees" that I recorded decades ago from the Simply Folk radio show in Madison, Wisconsin. I didn't catch the composer or singer, and now can't locate the recording. I would love to relearn this song. Can anyone identify it for me and point me in the direction of a recording? Here's the first verse:

"I returned one summer's day, where childhood years were spent in play
Down the paths that oft I strayed, deep into the forest
But time cast its season and I cast a sigh
For the trees that once hung laden lay stripped 'neath the summer sky."
