Just to muddy the waters (Got my mojo workin') of these various threads, I noticed over the weekend that the Corries version credits Hoffnung as co-author with the Irishmen already mentioned.

Roger

At the risk of further muddying, my Corries album has "Cooksey/Hoffnung/Murphy-Cop Con", although the latter is probably a record company.

Thanks, Chris for supplying the names that disappeared from my brain between my reading the label on Friday night and posting on Monday morning! I blame it on CRAFT disease (Can't Remember An eFfing Thing). I think that Murphy, & possibly Cooksey, had been mooted on one of the threads on this song.
