Basic three chords. Try the key of D. The chords are D, G and A.

If that's no help I'll c/p the words and do it on that. Lemme know. Or if you'd prefer another key, say so :-)

Waits is using a finger picking and in it he pops in runs leading from one chord to the other, but you'll pick that up soon enough. If you don't know what a sus 4 is that's ok. It'll come. Best of luck to you. (Nice song btw. Never heard it before. Many thanks.)
