My mother had a severe case of vertigo a year or so ago and physical therapy (resetting the crystals in one's inner ear which sounds like nonsense!) totally cured her. She also had carpel tunnel surgery on her wrists and was concerned whether she would be able to play the piano after the operation. Her doctor reassured her that she'd have no problem.
