The album is here: New Dimensions in Fingerstyle

This is a Bandcamp compilation of tunes by twelve of our favourite US guitarists. Some tracks are previously unreleased, some are from recent albums. What they all have in common is that they are part of the lineage of the guitarists inspired by the American Primitive greats Fahey, Basho, Lang Kottke et al, from Dennis Taylor, a true veteran who has been making this sort of music since the start of the 1970s, through to William Csorba, not long out of college, still in his early 20s.

We have brought these pieces together and made them available as a pay-what-you-want download, which means you can grab it for free. Any donations made will be split equally between all the contributors. This isn't really about money, though - it's about sharing some wonderful compositions and playing by musicians whose work we love and admire. We hope it will inspire you to check out more of their music: Google any of them and you'll find something - and most of them are elsewhere on Bandcamp, where you can have the pleasure of supporting them by buying their music directly from them or from the independent labels that put out this music. And whilst we have your attention, please check out www.northcountryprimitive.com for fingerstyle, American Primitive, raga guitar and outsider folk reviews and interviews.

Thank you for reading this and checking out New Dimensions in Fingerstyle - please share a link to the album as widely as possible via your website, blog, radio show or your social media poison of choice. Word of mouth is excellent, too. Happy listening!

That's a great compilation, Nigel - it reminds me very much of the sort of guitar playing I used to hear in the London clubs, the Cousins in particular, in the 1960s.

And good to see Dennis Taylor playing some great guitar - now that his snooker days are over... :-)

Ha! I knew I'd heard the name before.

Thanks for your kind words about the album, Will. It was a lot of fun putting it together.
