I used to be really into the blues, but have recently become addicted to bluegrass and old-timey stuff. I've got a copy of the guitar transcription book for Robert Johnson that I've hardly used (just couldn't find the sound in my VERY short attention-span). This book also has a brief biography of RJ in it.

If anybody has a book of bluegrass or old-time fiddle tunes they would like to trade, that'd be swell. I can read standard notation or mandolin TAB.

In order to keep postage costs down, I'd prefer to deal with someone in Canada or US.

You can respond to me on here, or at my email: Click to email

It just occurred to me that I've never seen a thread like this before. Have I just broken some unspoken code of behaviour? Or some copyright law that I don't understand? Normally I try to break the law in a less public place, except for public nudity of course. One is kind of a prerequisite for the other.

Paul.

Well, Paul, there are some here who could fault you for not paying enough attention to Robert Johnson....
The 'Cat seems like a perfect place for trading music books. Go for it!

I have happy Traum's "The Flatpicker's guitar guide", if you are interested. Does the Robert Johnson book come with a CD or cassette? Who wrote it?

EZR,

Sorry, I had to sell my guitar to buy my mandolin, so guitar books aren't of any use to me. But thanks for the offer. Here's what the front cover of the book says:
Robert Johnson
At The Crossroads - The Authoritative Guitar Transcriptions
Transcribed by Scott Ainslie and Dave Whitehill
Every Robert Johnson Song!
Includes an in-depth introduction,
extensive performance notes,
lyrics, and photographs!
That's 29 songs, folks. It doesn't include a CD or tape, but it came out shortly after the release of the Robert Johnson - At The Crossroads 2-CD box set, which includes all of these songs.

Yep, sure is one hell of a deal!

Paul
