Subject: RE: YouTube problem From: michaelr Date: 03 Mar 16 - 10:16 PM This drives me nuts. It now appears that I have two Youtube channels by the same name, one with content and one without. Don't know how that happened, and I can't ever tell which one I'm working on. Never had these problems before Google took it over. |
Subject: RE: YouTube problem From: Mr Red Date: 03 Mar 16 - 05:44 AM Upload again - don't ya just love Google! My solution is far better, particularly when I hand out business cards, because the text is infinitely shorter. Mind you you do need a to own a domain name and be able to create sub-domains. And people will eventually get up to speed with the new top level domain names (like .red). But it took 50 minutes to write the page, sort the domain (on a "no way near hot"-spot from BT that took 3 goes). Now compare that with uploading 20 videos again! eg http://canal.mister.red = http://video.mister.red |
Subject: RE: YouTube problem From: Will Fly Date: 03 Mar 16 - 03:22 AM On looking again at both YouTube pages - playlist and home channel, I may not be quite right in my analysis, and it's not quite as clear to me where the mistake arose. However, I would still log in to your home page, delete any playlists, re-upload the videos to your home channel so that they appear there in the usual way - and then re-create the playlist. When you've done that, your YT home page should appear more like mine: Will Fly with all the usual stuff - playlists, etc., listed. |
Subject: RE: YouTube problem From: Mr Red Date: 03 Mar 16 - 03:15 AM Two years ago, (actually one year ago because I added a wedding video) going to=youtube.com/cresbydotcom showed all my videos. Today it doesn't, and logging in says: Uploads Only you can view You don't have any public recent uploads, so this will not appear on your channel. To add content, upload a video. Things change, information may but does it tell you what you need to know? Can you create an account for the band name and add it to your account? Not sure if that gives you what you want. You could then have personal channel and a band channel administered from one log-in. I am struggling with any sort of setting and a broadband hotspot that is actually slower than dial-up! Remember those days? And I am unlimited Ha! Bloody BT mendacity. found this page https://www.youtube.com/account_privacy (once you are logged-in) That has a privacy check-box that they seem to have set to private! |
Subject: RE: YouTube problem From: Will Fly Date: 03 Mar 16 - 03:14 AM When I go to this link: Flash Company which is the link you first quoted in your original promotional Mudcat thread, there's a playlist on the right hand side of the screen. If you click on the "Greenhouse Concert Oct 9, 2015" heading at the top of the playlist, it takes you here: Greenhouse Concert Oct 9, 2015 which appears to be the main channel for your stuff. So it looks as though you've uploaded all your stuff under the username "Greenhouse Concert Oct 9, 2015" - rather than the username "Greenhouse". How that happened I can't say. What I would do is delete all the stuff under the "Greenhouse Concert Oct 9, 2015" username, go to your proper channel name, i.e. "Greenhouse", log in and re-upload all the videos. Then re-create your playlist. I think I'm right here, but others may have a better view! |
Subject: RE: YouTube problem From: michaelr Date: 03 Mar 16 - 02:11 AM I have five playlists on my channel. One of them is linked to in this thread. I'd love to hear from folks who have experience with managing YouTube channels. Will Fly? |
Subject: RE: YouTube problem From: Stilly River Sage Date: 03 Mar 16 - 12:31 AM Look in your playlists. Is this everything? It appears that the videos are stashed on playlists, not on channels. |
Subject: RE: YouTube problem From: Stilly River Sage Date: 03 Mar 16 - 12:28 AM Is this you? Then they're all under your name, not under the group or program name. |
Subject: RE: YouTube problem From: Sandra in Sydney Date: 03 Mar 16 - 12:25 AM google search on "This channel has no content" I hope something here helps, so you can continue with your shameless self-promotion! sandra |
Subject: YouTube problem From: michaelr Date: 03 Mar 16 - 12:04 AM Hi all, I'm freaking out here. As I posted in this thread, I uploaded videos of my band to my YouTube channel. They are there, and I can find them individually by name. BUT suddenly, when I go to the channel itself, OR google it by putting in "GreenhouseCeltic", Youtube says "This channel has no content". Which is obviously untrue, and detrimental to my shameless self-promotion. Any idea what's going on here? |
