Subject: RE: Anyone recommend Newfoundland Folk Fest? From: GUEST,Marcia Palmater Date: 25 Mar 16 - 07:47 PM I can absolutely recommend this festival! You'll be amazed at the quality and quantity of local talent there. One of the great things about it is, like similar events in Atlantic Canada, the local people turn out. We saw our B&B landlady there. It's not just folkies! |
Subject: RE: Anyone recommend Newfoundland Folk Fest? From: Anglo Date: 25 Mar 16 - 04:58 PM I played there a few years ago. Terrific festival. Really good local music as well as nationally (and internationally) known artists. Waterson : Carthy were there from England when I was there, Archie Fisher from Scotland. I had a fabulous time - first time on the island as well. Make sure you hit some of the smaller tents as well as the main stage. |
Subject: Anyone recommend the Newfoundland Folk Fest? From: JenBurdoo Date: 25 Mar 16 - 02:40 PM I've always wanted to visit St. Johns, Newfoundland, and it looks like the 40th Newfoundland and Labrador Folk Festival first weekend in August might be a great time to go. Any thoughts, suggestions, other Mudcatters thinking of going? I see the Folk Arts Society has weekly sessions so I could still get some music in regardless of when I turn up. |
