Subject: Raphael Boguslav From: babypix Date: 31 Mar 16 - 03:12 PM Gentle Colleagues: I've been custodian of a FB page for my dear, deceased friend, Raphael Boguslav, who memorably recorded "Songs from a Village Garrett", back in 1955. I wonder if any of you knew him then, or later, as an accompanist to Harry Belafonte and also Theo Bikel; OR, if you might have known him as a calligrapher and renowned designer of corporate logos? Any and all memories, anecdotes, information, images, audio, etc. would be welcomed. Kindest thanks! Deborah Robins bassclarinetrobins@gmail.com |

Subject: RE: Raphael Boguslav recollections? From: Padre Date: 31 Mar 16 - 09:53 PM I first heard him on tat album, which I checked out of our public library in 1957. After playing through it several times, I had to have my own copy, so I took money I had earned mowing lawns in our neighborhood and got the local record store to order me a copy. I played that poor album to within an inch of its life over many years, and then lost it in a move to Washington DC in 1969. |
