Hi,

I met Scotty Moore after I got to know Chet, who invited me to come to Nashville to his Chet Atkins Appreciation Convention. Scotty came to the Convention since he lived in Nashville. I got a chance to chat with him there in 1993-1994.

Awesome guitarist Martin Taylor, who was also at the convention in 1993, does an interview https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qQgFP-AwSBk

He was the the inspirational figurehead of a style of playing that still directly influenced everything I tried to learn on guitar as a teen in the 1970s...

Definitely in my top 5 all time greats... 😎

Shame only 4 posts here in 24 hours..
I get the impression we'd need to even explain who 'Elvis' was to a lot of old diehard mudcat acoustic folkies....

This is sad news indeed.Scotty's totally modest manner would suggest
that he was no more than an average player, yet his spiky angular back-up and solos delivered with such dynamic attack matched Presley's vocals perfectly, setting the standard for all rockabilly guitar
RIP Scotty
