Hello there people. I don't know if anyone's noticed a couple of messages of mine scattered in other threads so I'll come straight out and tell you. (Coughs and clears throat nervously)

A friend and I are doing a coffeehouse gig in Newmarket this Friday, December 10, 8:00 pm. We will be joined in the intervals by our friend Katy Austin. I am one half of Brooks and Cooper (we still haven't come up with a name) we sing some English folk tunes, a few modern songs and some, make that a very few, original tunes. Now and again I tell him to leave the stage and sing a cappella . In retaliation Terry sings, for some unknown and probably disreputable reason, Jake Thackeray songs. If he can't get his E-string tuned I become desperate and have been known to recite Vogon poetry. We all pray that he keeps that string tuned. He plays guitar, I play recorder, bodhran, bells and shackles. Any Mudcatters from the surrounding area, and I notice a lot from Toronto, are welcome to come and hear us, I'd be delighted to meet you. As a clue I'll let you know that I am not the one losing my hair.

If you're interested in the Corner Coffeehouse I found this address which will tell you about it, although its a little out of date as far as lineups go.

Wish you well with the gig, sir. Regrettably I be otherwise committed that evening, or I'd make the trip. Greeting as well to Katy, if you'd be so kind as to pass them on. I'm assuming, of course, that it's the Katy I met up at The Woods Music Camp last summer. Tell her one of the Olde Spyce boys says hello.

Is this particular Newmarket on the American side of the pond, by any chance??

Don't you ever learn, GeorgeH? You got your bollocks chewed off for asking a similar question in another thread, recently *BG*

hudging by the reference to Toronto, I would assume it's on the Canadian side of the lake north of the american side of the pond

Yes indeedy MMario it is in Canada, about an hours drive, more or less, north of Toronto.

Jeremiah I will certainly pass the message along to Katy for you.

Sophocleese,

I would love to attend, if only for the Vogon poetry. I have met several Vogons in my life, most of them in upper management.

Alas, I have prior commitments with my children.

Oh, Sister Josephine. What do all of these policemen mean? Coming to the convent in their grim limosines. Looking for you, Josephine.
