Subject: RE: Lyr Req: MacColl Lloyd Riverside Non Child Ballad From: Reinhard Date: 02 Jul 16 - 02:39 PM Sorry Jim but I mis-remembered. The notes in Bramble Briars and Beams of the Sun are *not* Kenneth S. Goldstein's original ones, but new and much extended notes by Vic Gammon. The notes I typed out on my website are nearly complete except for each note's last paragraph with references to further sources. Plus, the booklet also has the song lyrics which I didn't copy if I alroeady had enough similar other versions. |

Subject: RE: Lyr Req: MacColl Lloyd Riverside Non Child Ballad From: Jim Carroll Date: 02 Jul 16 - 01:59 PM Thanks a million Reinhard - the speed of your response must be some sort of record. Have got Bramble Briars and, failing all, I can bluff the rest. Do you know how extensive the original notes were? Thanks again Jim Carroll |
Subject: RE: Lyr Req: MacColl Lloyd Riverside Non Child Ballad From: Reinhard Date: 02 Jul 16 - 01:21 PM About half of the song notes are on Mainly Norfolk at Great British Ballads Not Included in the Child Collection; just follow the links to the songs. All notes to Lloyd's songs are in the booklet of his Fellside CD Bramble Briars and Beams of the Sun. |

Would very much appreciate a copy of them if there was. Thanks Jim Carroll |
